Boats and the Sea is the most touching performance in the Hoi An Impression show. The image depicts a young woman carrying a lantern, running back and forth across the vast white sand, trying to “cast” the light out into the deep, dark sea, searching for her beloved.

These young men, despite overcoming countless difficulties and challenges, remain steadfast, because deep in their hearts, the warm light of their homeland still burns, the guiding light being the undying love of the faithful and devoted women of Hoi An.

The performance showcases the golden memories of the ancient Hoi An trading port, while also highlighting the stark wealth disparity in the old society and the nascent bourgeois economy in this prosperous port city. Merchants from all over the world brought not only goods but also the civilizational values ​​of humanity, creating a once glorious and prosperous Hoi An trading port.

Despite its many ups and downs, Hoi An retains its original charm as a peaceful, romantic, and gently beautiful place, like the flowing ao dai dress of a Vietnamese woman. Visitors will be overwhelmed by the magical sight of 100 girls in traditional ao dai dresses, gracefully walking together along a light-filled path.
